Which Audi SUV Should You Buy?

Audi offers three SUV sizes to haul around families on the go. Their most compact SUV, the Q3 faces stiff competition, not just from the Q5 but also from the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and Range Rover Evoque. It comes in No. 5 on the U.S. News list of best luxury subcompact SUVs.

The Audi Q5 is the company's compact SUV, falling between the Q3 and Q7. The 2017 Audi Q5 is ranked No. 5 in the U.S. News luxury compact SUV category, tied with the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Lexus NX.

The Q5 is long in its model run and the company has already announced that its replacement will be appearing as a 2018 model. The Q3 is also long in its model run but last underwent a refresh in 2015, which updated the exterior, added safety technology, and upgraded the interior.

Which one is best? Let's take a closer look.

I considered both the Q3 and the Q5 at first. The Wife preferred the Q3 do to size. We decided on the '17 Q5 2.0 Prem. With pkg. upgrades. I needed more legroom. We compromised as she chose Exterior Color. I chose Interior Color. The Q3 was the Prestige model.while the Q5 the Premiem model. Both came in at about same price.

I would have preferred the TDI over the Gas but it wasn't available here in the US.

I'm looking to get a TDI model and it sucks that here in the US we have to go to the 2014-2016 models to get one.

I understand your concern. I went with a New '17 Q5 as I wanted a full warranty and some extra's not found on many Q5's in my area. My 2.0 T Gas works fine despite the lower mileage per gallon. My Q5 is a secondary family vehicle so it's used sparingly.
